About our short films
KATE KENDELL is a lawyer/activist at the fore of the fight for LGBTQ+ rights. Her amazing journey spans from being born into the Church of Latter Day Saints to becoming a major role model for the LGBTQ community.
OLGA TALAMANTE is a Mexican American activist. She brought a lesbian lens to her work as executive director of The Chicana Latina Foundation where she served since 2003 and recently retired. She has won many awards including the “Women Making History Award” from the SF commission on the status of women. She is also listed among the “Most influential latinos in the San Francisco Bay Area”.
We just wrapped production on a new short-film about CRYSTAL JANG. Crystal has spent six decades as an activist, educator, community organizer, and proud “Auntie” in the Queer, Trans, Asian, and Pacific Islander (QTAPI) community.
About the series
Our series of short films, Game Changers -Impacting LGBTQ Culture, broadens the Game Changers history project, as we expand our mission to include additional BIPOC and younger women who have made significant contributions to LGBTQ+ culture. We are creating the film series as a part of our Lesbian Game Changers Queer history lesson plan, now included in a directory of LGBTQ+ curricula currently available to all California public schools.
